Clothing
I encourage my clients to bring a variety of outfits and looks to the session so we have a lot of options to choose from. Choose outfits you love! If you don’t feel comfortable in it, you won’t photograph well in it. We will choose 2-4 outfits during the session for you to be photographed in. If you unsure about what will look best or go with your brand, bring more. I can help you sort through your outfit selection at your session.
When choosing your outfits, consider bringing a variety of different textures, colors and necklines. Try not to be too seasonal. We want these photographs to work for you all year long. T-shirts, tank tops, sweaters and light jackets can all work. Patterns are okay, but solid colors are best to make sure nothing distracts from your face.
Layers can add texture to your images, but keep it minimal. Too many layers can be distracting. A solid colored scarf or light jacket can add the perfect amount of texture to your images. Keep jewelry simple too. Studs or small earrings work best and simple necklaces. Anything hanging or chunky will usually draw too much attention away from your face in a headshot.
Have some fun with this, if you feel your wardrobe is missing something then go shopping and we’ll keep the tags on in case you’d like to return the items after the shoot.

Please come to your session with your hair and makeup ready for the session.
Hair and Makeup
Women's makeup:
I ask that you come in with your hair ready, the way you would like to present yourself. I want your hair in your pictures to be as close as possible to the way you look on a fantastic hair day. If you would like to have your hair down as well as pulled back during the session, then just let me know when you arrive. We will begin with your hair down and pull it back half way through the session.
Please come in the makeup you would wear on a normal day when you look and feel confident. There is no need to add extra makeup for your photography session. Keep your makeup simple and natural. If you are not confident in your makeup skills then I can book a makeup and hair artist for the day of your session.
You can always apply heavier makeup during the session. Please bring lipgloss with you as we will apply it throughout the session to keep you looking fresh. Also, please do not wear powder. Powder can change the way your skin looks in a not-so-good way in camera. I will apply a powder effect in retouching if needed to bring down shine.
Women's hair:
men:
I do not recommend makeup on men, your final image will be retouched afterwards, so any blemishes will be taken care of during that process. Please come groomed. It is best to shave within 1 hour of your session so there is no stubble on your face. Stubble will not be retouched out. If you would like to arrive earlier and shave at our location, you may do so. Please bring your own grooming products.
men's hair/facial hair:
Please come with your hair as close as possible to the way you look on a great hair day. If you’d like to shoot with facial hair, please come in with whatever level of growth you’d like. If you would like to have photos taken without your facial hair as well, please let me know at the start of the session. You will have the option to shave it part way through the session, once we have approved images with it. Bring whatever grooming products you’ll need with you to get it done. We do have a bathroom you can use.
Retouching and Printing
Once you've chosen the image you'd like to use you can submit your image for retouching through your online gallery. For quality control purposes, I personally retouch each headshot. Additional retouched images may be purchased. Each retouched studio image includes the Social Media Package. The Social Media Package can not be purchased on its own since the entire image needs to be retouched prior to resizing.
